After the success of the Izumi restaurant in the north of Caroline Springs, owner Rebecca Kong is now opening a new Japanese restaurant in Springlake! Izakaya Rin will provide a striking and vibrant atmosphere to complement their delicious food, making it the place to be for an incredible Japanese experience.

Reflecting the restaurant’s more modern take on Japanese cuisine, the interior takes inspiration from Tokyo’s backstreet eateries to capture an urban Japanese feel. BlackMilk, the design studio behind the interior concept, wanted diners to feel as though they were really in the bustling city, surrounding them with contemporary pop culture and eighties-inspired neon. The spectacular centrepiece of the interior is the floor-to-ceiling mural by branding team Casper, which brings together old and new Japanese pop art to create the perfect backdrop for your Instagram shots.

Casper and BlackMilk worked closely to infuse their collective vision into all elements of the Izakaya Rin experience, translating it into menus, take-home packaging, and even a new range of t-shirts. It’s been an amazing collaboration, and the whole team – including Rebecca – cannot wait to share it with everyone soon.
